I can feel it in the air...immense stress that promises to give way at long last to a feeling of immeasurable peace. Despite what I know awaits me on the other side, I feel tense. Like I'm operating under some unfathomable weight.

I failed to complete my cataloging assignment at all last night, due to not understanding the material. Dewey classification is simple, logical! It offers less room for new material, but it's worked thus far. The other major way of classifying is Library of Congress, named for the place it was first used. According to history, its designer never intended it to be used elsewhere. Its entire purpose was to catalog one collection, in one building. Of course it's esoteric! Of course it's complicated...of course it's a headache. But alas. I must know it for this massive project I must complete in 2 weeks' time. I'm thinking about attempting once more to do the assignment that was due last night...trying to turn it in for some credit I definitely need the practice, and a good night's sleep has done a little for my willpower.

I became too upset last night even to work out. Driving would have been chancing it somewhat, I think. I felt distracted, weak, miserable. Hopeless too. Weird how sleep can do away with so much of that feeling sometimes. Today I'm feeling...acceptable I guess. Looking forward to a DEFINITE workout tonight after work though. So much to do, and so little time. I did manage to get my offering to Thanksgiving made before work today. A humble little gelatin-fruit dessert with strawberries and bananas solidified in the goo, heh. Looking forward to having the next two days off...really hoping to get some things accomplished! Perhaps some school-related tasks so that I can start planning a bit for last-minute Christmas shopping and wrapping in the following weeks.

Such a hectic time of year, and yet...those sweet moments of peace that are like the pot at the end of the veritable PAIN-bow are well worth it. Drinking, eating, communing, really feeling that something makes this time of year really joyous...something in us that longs to have rest after a taxing year, or something I'll try to enjoy myself along the way of course. Lots of snacking and sipping on tea and listening to good music. Lots of trying to find the spirit of the season amid the madness.
